# Get Backstage access

Backstage is intended for journalists, civic creators, and people at advocacy and community organizations who use local government meeting material in their work.

1. Open SeeGov's **For Newsrooms & Creators** page.
2. Choose **Request Access**.
3. Create or sign in to your SeeGov account.
4. Tell us how you plan to use Backstage and, if relevant, the name of your organization.
5. Submit the request.

We review access requests so we can support the people using these reporting and creation tools. You will see **Request under review** until the request is approved.

Once approved, the **Backstage** menu includes **Meetings** and **Help**. You can immediately use Find News and begin creating a video highlight.

> Completing your creator profile later is not another access request. It is a one-time setup that happens naturally the first time you create.
